President Willam Ruto Ends Huduma–PCK Rent Dispute
After over a decade of unpaid rent and stalled talks, President William Ruto has stepped in to resolve the standoff between Huduma Kenya and the Postal Corporation of Kenya (PCK) over KSh1.8 billion arrears.
Huduma Kenya, which operates service centres across the country, has not paid rent for PCK premises since 2013, pushing the postal agency to the brink of insolvency. The President has now directed that PCK be allocated funds to settle part of the debt, including salaries, pensions, and gratuities.
This move is part of a broader government effort to reform and streamline State corporations, cut costs, and make better use of idle assets like vacant buildings and land.
A long-standing dispute finally gets a solution – but it also highlights the urgent need for accountability and efficiency in managing public resources
